We are a leading broker & service provider in freight & commodity derivatives. We have enjoyed dominant market share in dry bulk freight (FFAs), iron ore, coking coal, steel and fertilizer derivatives outside China for the last decade. We were named No. 1 bulk commodity broker by the SGX Exchange for nine years running.
We pioneered the development of iron ore, FFA options, coking coal, cobalt, lithium and container markets. We were the first broker to arrange deals in the 0.5% Sulphur content fuel contracts on SGX and CME exchanges.
Our offices in the US, UK, Dubai, India, Singapore and China provide a 24-hour global network. We’re present in all major markets including SGX, NASDAQ, CME, ICE, EEX, DCE and DME. We hold a license to broker FFAs in RMB via Shanghai Clearing House and act as RIB member of the LME.

John Banaszkiewicz, commonly known as John B, founded Freight Investor Services (FIS) in 2002, growing the company into one of the world’s leading freight and commodity derivatives brokers.
In addition to leading FIS to new and emerging markets, John also serves as Chairman of the FFA Brokers Association (FFABA), was inaugural Chairman of the Iron Ore and Steel Derivatives Association, and is a founding member of the Independent Freight Forward Agreement Association (IFFAA).
John’s determination and commitment to innovation has made him a leading figure in the market. He can regularly be heard speaking to shipping and financial market conferences worldwide.
As an avid philanthropist, John is a trustee for Cancer Assessment Rapid Early Support (CARES) and most recently has been working with Ukraine CARES, chartered by FIS, to provide humanitarian aid and tactical equipment donations.
On top of his business and philanthropic efforts, John is on the board of directors of Burnley Football Club and UCFB (University College Football Business). He also enjoys travelling, golf, and reading (when he has the time!)
